"Fragile" This week's Illustration Friday challenge. I wanted to do more with this but I'm a bit fragile myself these past few days since my cat, Casper went missing. 

"Our Ancient Earth"

"Ancient" Illustration Friday entry for week ending March 13. This is called "Our Ancient Earth." I did this in 1990. It is of fossils. Since I am a collector (and seeker) of them it is a "passion within a passion!"

"Sorrow" IFRI topic of the week. It's more realistic to call it a "challenge" I think. Though I feel I cheat with my ink because I know how that comes across. I like to challenge myself to be more cartoon-like, to work with different mediums. Though mostly I like to make the IFRI topic challenge me to think from different angles! I hope to publish another piece I am working on before Friday...more of a challenge.

Flight

Flight II. This is my second Illo Friday interpretation of the "challenge" word. This is I.M. Footloose and Fan C. Free on their first balloon flight of the "S.S. Fancy!" So it's a "flight of Fancy!" Har,har,har! Sorry...I spent the first twenty years of my life entertaining on stage and local kid's tv shows...the "humor" comes naturally! LOL

Illustration Friday

"Flight" This week's IF challenge. I admit I did this a week or so ago. How appropriate for Valentine's Day...the apple of my eye, my grandson- Dylan. It is a pencil idea for a book based on my grandson. He goes everywhere with his binky and a ball. Obnoxiously early, I know.

"Year of the Rooster III" This is my third and final submission for the "rooster" topic. This pen and ink depicts a New Year float with a fu dog challenging the rooster who is unwaivered by his actions and remains balanced on a ball. They would be made of parachute material and lit from within. Don't forget to look at my previous entries!

"Year of The Rooster" Illustration Friday's topic. (Please double click to see better.)I can't seem to stop on this one...had two right off the top. Maybe it's because I was raised on a farm around chickens!!! Anyway..this is a bit rushed, but I was sooo excited to get it up on the board. There's one more coming, better representing my favorite medium.

"Friendship" This week's I.F. piece is below but I had this idea I had working with pen and ink and handmade paper. The paper would have rougher edges and be mounted on another piece. I would do only nature pieces...bringing nature back in touch with itself with natural elements.
Whaddya' think???I need feedback on this one.

"Friendship." This week's IF topic. I chose to commemorate the gift France gave to the United States in honer of their friendship with us... by drawing "Lady Liberty." She has become such an important symbol since 9/11! This is in my traditional Pen and Ink. It is my favorite medium.

Gluttony I. -Illustration Friday. This was the first idea I came up with. I have to admit I was a bit anxious and checked at midnight (EST) to see if the word was up yet. It wasn't. But I made myself wait as long as I could today. I was worried when I saw the word that I wouldn't have any ideas...low and behold (whatever that means) I had two. Gluttony II. -Illustration Friday. I Hate to be a pig and hog two picture spaces...so I am uploading this in one shot. Ironic? I received a 5lb. box of homemade candies from a friend today the same day the word, Gluttony, came out for Illustration Friday?!

The Seasons I. Illustration Friday. Ok...this is one I did before I thought of Tax and Shopping (Scroll down to see them). I just didn't want to send it in because I knew the "quadrant theme" would be done a lot.

The Seasons II. My Illustration Friday piece took longer to decide on because I knew the obvious choices but wanted to challenge myself. Even though I kinda rushed this one a bit I will submit it anyway. With all the new holidays we celebrate in America why not two new seasons too?!

Balance I. "Dolphin Balance" Commissioned work that fits Illustration Friday's word!

Balance II. Here is my second entry for Illustration Friday..."Namaste'- Balance." The pose frequently used in Yoga for "Namaste'" is with praying hands...Namaste' means something to the effect of ' the goddess within me rises and greets the goddess within you!'

Commissioned work. Paper Mache' Cat for parade. During the parade I heard one little girl say we're gonna do that next year! And my heart swelled!
